LJAF is thrilled to announce that the Latino Judges Association (LJA) is now accepting applications for the 2024 Latino Judges Association Summer Internship Program.

These internships provide unique and pivotal opportunities for law students to work under the supervision of a New York City, New York State, or Federal Court Judge or Justice.

Join Us In Supporting Education & Outreach!

LJAF is committed to funding the creation of scholarship programs and establishing a resource for community education and outreach programming. We aspire to create new and support existing mentoring and training opportunities available through the courts, educational institutions, bar associations, and supporting the training of law interns.

LJAF proudly supported the Latino Judges Internship Program (the “LJA Internship Program”), by funding much needed stipends to law students selected to intern for the Summers of 2022 and 2023 and Fall 2024. The LJA Internship Summer Program provides students with the unique opportunity to participate in a ten-week judicial internship program, rotating among the different courts within the State of New York. The LJA Fall Internship Program will provide students with the opportunity to participate in a shorter, more concentrated judicial internship with a single Judge in one court within the State of New York. Many first-generation lawyers know that it is virtually impossible to accept an unpaid internship when one is struggling to support oneself.

LJAF wants to continue to make these kinds of important, life-altering opportunities available for as many students as possible by raising awareness, creating pathways, and providing necessary financial support.
